Great adaptation of the Tolkein novel. Variations of action and dialogue acceptable, although strays a bit from the original. Additional characters give some variation to orginal story line and makes one wonder how this will play out in the final episode.

I was a bit leery about the movie probably because I loved the trilogy so much. But after watching this I loved it. I certainly would buy it again and I plan and watching it many times. I am not one of those who critiques every move of a movie, analyzes every word said. If a move "tickles my fancy" I like it. I have liked many many movies that have had not so good reviews. I have disliked movies that have had rave reviews. And yes I do have good taste and this one fell into the very good category for both husband and me.

Way too much violence for me. It seems as though all the violence in the Lord of the Rings trilogy was condensed an put in this film at the expense of character development..
